Position Overview:
The GBS Revenue Accounting team is an integral component of the R2R team, headquartered at our Bangalore facility. This dedicated team collaborates closely with the Corporate Revenue Accounting team in Sunnyvale, California, to ensure Juniper’s adherence to the stringent US GAAP Revenue Recognition Standards.
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager within the R2R division, this role plays a pivotal part in supporting various functions. The team engages in diverse activities, including reviewing contracts to assess revenue implications, managing revenue accounting for select clientele, executing service revenue adjustments, overseeing SOX controls, conducting reconciliations, participating in revenue forecasting in tandem with Theatre Revenue Managers, and ensuring compliance with the latest revenue standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Thoroughly scrutinize contracts, assess their impact on revenue, and ensure strict adherence to accounting policies and ASC 606 guidelines, guaranteeing accurate revenue recognition. Execute necessary adjustments through Journal Entries (JEs).
Regularly compile comprehensive account reconciliations utilizing the Blackline platform, contributing to meticulous financial record-keeping.
Foster a collaborative environment with Theatre Revenue Managers (TRMs) to aid in revenue forecasting and assist in JE preparations, streamlining the month-end closure process.
Play an active role in the month-end closure activities, which includes conducting SOX control testing, JE preparations, and all other associated tasks.
Flexibility to contribute to additional and ad-hoc activities as and when required to ensure the smooth functioning of the team and department.
